881 Content Evaluation of First Aid Information of Burn Centre Websites Worldwide

Abstract While the internet is an invaluable resource for both patients and healthcare providers in management of burns, websites are often unregulated highly variable quality their content. Burns centres unique position possessing presumed reputability amongst public. It therefore imperative that provide information consistent its content, through a format accessible coherent. In this study, we aimed to evaluate first aid burns UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia New Zealand. This study highlights importance leadership role these should possess online. A multicentre, observational, cross-sectional was performed over period two years (October 2020 July 2022). Each centre’s website evaluated using 10-point scoring system assess content accuracy. The by Burgress et al, based on basic principles “stop, remove, cool cover”. 188 burn across stated countries were included. country with highest average score & Zealand (5), followed USA (2.89), Canada (1.78) UK Ireland (2.89). consistency resources remains area potential improvement be considered future design such websites. most common step missed keep victims warm prevent hypothermia.
